Fuses
When an elec tric al ac c essory fails to
op erate, sw itc h it off and insp ec t the
fuse.
In the glove compartment
1 Op en the glove c om p artm ent and
turn the tw o q uic k- release fasteners
to the left. Sp are fuses and p lastic
tw eezers are loc ated on the fuse
hold er.
2 Use the p lastic tw eezers to rem ove
the fuse for the ac c essory or eq uip -
m ent that has stop p ed w orking.
3 If the fuse is b urned through (the
m etal strip w ill have m elted and
sep arated ), rep lac e it w ith a new fuse
of the sam e am p ere rating (c olor
c od e).

A list of the fuses, their resp ec tive
am p ere ratings and the eq uip m ent in
their c irc uits is p rovid ed b elow the fuse
hold er.
Close the fuse hold er b y hold ing the top
of the c over in p lac e and sc rew ing the
tw o q uic k- release fasteners to the right.
Ad d itional fuses are p rovid ed in the
c argo area.
The fuse for c ontinuous p ositive c urrent
is loc ated in a sep arate fuse b ox in front
of the sp are w heel. If this fuse is d efec -
tive, refer the p rob lem to your B M W
c enter for rep air.
Do not attem p t to rep air a b urned
fuse or rep lac e it w ith a fuse
having a d ifferent c olor or am p ere
rating. To d o this c ould c ause a fire in
the vehic le resulting from a c irc uit over-
load .

If the fuse c ontinues to b urn through,
have the p rob lem c orrec ted b y a B M W
c enter.
In the cargo area
Op en the right c over b y p ulling the
hand le.
A list of the fuses, their resp ec tive
am p ere ratings and the eq uip m ent in
their c irc uits is p rovid ed on the rear of
the sid e trim p anel.
