Switching Views in Google Maps
Google Maps gives you the option of
looking at a conventional map grid or real
satellite images.
To switch between views, use the hotkey =
2, or press the Menu key and select
Satellite View (or 2).
To switch back, press the Menu key, and
select Map View (or press 2).
Seeing Your Current Location-----The Little Blue Dot
Versions 3.0 and higher of Google Maps allow you to show your location as a little blue
dot, which is pinpointed by the GPS receiver built into your BlackBerry.
NOTE: When your GPS cannot get a satellite lock, or for your friends without GPS built-in to
their BlackBerry devices, the approximate location is determined by triangulation using cell
phone towers. When cell towers are used, a shaded circle around the blue dot shows that the
location is approximate.
This is a great feature and very easy to access using the shortcut key of zero 0. Pressing
0 or selecting My Location from the menu will show you the blue dot.
