If you have turned Data Services to Off, you will need to make sure to turn them back
On so you can receive data when you return home.
You may need to register your BlackBerry on the local network again. See the Host
Routing Table (Register Now) on page 549.
You may want turn off special international plans, if they’re not needed. If you have
activated some sort of special international roaming rate plan with your BlackBerry
phone company and do not need it any more, turn it off to save some money.
BlackBerry Maps, Google Maps, Bluetooth GPS
In addition to the myriad of possibilities in which your BlackBerry can manage your life, it
can also literally take you places. With the aid of software that is either preloaded on the
BlackBerry or easily downloaded on the Web, you can find just about any location,
business, or attractions using your BlackBerry.
Enabling GPS on Your BlackBerry
To get the maximum benefit out of any of any mapping software on your BlackBerry,
you need to make sure your GPS receiver is enabled or turned on.

Click your Options icon. Select
Advanced Options and then GPS.

Make sure GPS Services is set to
Location ON as shown, press the
Menu key, and select Save.
Using BlackBerry Maps
The BlackBerry ships with the BlackBerry Maps software, a very good application for
determining your current location and tracking your progress via the built-in GPS
receiver on your BlackBerry.
NOTE: For GPS to work, you first have to turn on or enable GPS on your BlackBerry; see the
section above.
