In this example, you want to invite 
Martin and Evan to be a part of the 
Made Simple Learning team group. 
They are existing Messenger Contacts, 
so choose Select a contact from 
BlackBerry Messenger and then place 
check marks next to their names.

When you’re done, press the Menu key 
and select Send. 

Using BBM Barcodes 

Perhaps the most innovative feature of the new BlackBerry Messenger is the use of a 

unique barcode as a means of connecting to someone as a Messenger contact. 

Each BlackBerry can generate its own unique 

barcode. To find your barcode, just start up the 

Messenger application and press the Menu key 
and select My Profile.  

Scroll down to Display My Barcode and click 
the trackpad. The screen will now show your 

unique barcode. Any other BlackBerry user 

(with BlackBerry Messenger 5 installed AND a 
camera on their BlackBerry) can snap a picture 

of the barcode.
