Device Options in Desktop Manager for Mac

Device Options

You can rename your device if you like (the default is simply your model and PIN

number.) If you want to automatically sync your device each time you connect, just
check the first check box. If you want to see a desktop icon showing your BlackBerry as

an external disk, just check the Show as disk on the desktop box. Once you do this,

you can easily transfer files between your Mac and your BlackBerry using the drag-and-
drop method you have used on your Mac to copy between folders and disks.

Device Is Synchronized with One or Several Computers

Here you have the option of choosing whether you BlackBerry syncs only with this Mac
or with other computers. If your BlackBerry syncs with your PC and with your Google

account, you should select the with other computers (safer sync) option to avoid

duplicating entries in your contacts and calendars.

Backup Options

Click the Backup icon along the tabs on the top of the Device Options

screen (Figure 4-15).
