BUTTONS AND OPERATION OF THE MENU

G 501 with a display is fitted with 3 buttons which are located
on the right next to the graphics display. After pressing a but-
ton the display is illuminated and illumination ends about 60
seconds after the last action. In operational readiness (1) the ga-

In some screens additional information is displayed upon pres-
sing on ENTER. An example based on „Open menu“:

On safety grounds the menu can only be opened in that „Se-
tup“ is confirmed by pressing ENTER and holding it down for 3
seconds. The information „Hold“ (2) appears in the display.
Presentation in the programming manual
Each of the following pages always begins in the normal con-
dition „Operational readiness“ at the upper left. The sequence
of the steps takes place based on what is shown on the screen.
Buttons which should be pressed to execute the setup have a
grey background (3).
Actions which occur due to pressing of a button are displayed
with an arrow:
Actions which occur automatically are displayed with the dos-
hed arrow:
Optional actions (for example „scroll to the beginning of the
list“) are shown dotted:
If there are various options to select from then it is suggested
using the striped buttons A and B to select the desired option
(4).
The request to scroll on to the next or the last menu point is, in
as far as it is not executed in individual steps, shown with the
pictograms 5 or 6.
If a menu point which offers various values or options for se-
tup is opened then the current setup always has a black back-
ground (7).
Various screens serve to provide information about an upco-
ming or completed action. These screens are faded out auto-
matically after about 3 seconds. No operator actions are possi-
ble during display of this screen (8).

firmed using ENTER (button C).
