Appendix C Ethernet Setup
The
pH SAFE Reader
may be connected to a LIS network for transferring data
via a 10Base-T Ethernet output port. The BCSI software is setup so the LIS will
pull data from the instrument.
The
pH SAFE Reader
is setup to run as an anonymous FTP server. The static
IP address of the instrument and network addresses are specified in Section
6.5.8, Ethernet Setup.
The instrument will maintain two text files on the server. One file, named
README,
contains the serial number of the unit in the following format:
BCSI pH 1000
Serial #(12 char serial no)
The second file, named
test_info
, is a CSV data file that contains the test results
in the following format.
1234567890abcdefghij,USER1 ,30 Nov 2020,11:51:00,6.87
QC Test ,USER1 ,30 Nov 2020,12:32:00,1003
Bag ID ,User ID ,Test Date ,Time ,pH (or QC) reading
20 Chars ,11 Chars ,11 Chars ,8 Chars ,4 Chars
As additional test records are saved they are added to the data file. If the
instrument is busy communicating via Ethernet, it will block the saving of new
test records until the Ethernet communication has finished. Once the CSV data
file has been uploaded to the LIS, the results stored in the instrument's non-
volatile memory are deleted and newly saved results can be stored in memory.
The LIS should be setup so that it logs onto the FTP server of the
pH SAFE
Reader
, copies the data file from the instrument and then logs off. This should
be done on a timed basis. The instrument's memory can hold up to 100 records
which takes over an hour of constant measurements to generate and save.
