Daily Fiber Optic Probe Tip Inspection
The tip of the instrument Fiber Optic Probe is a clear optical surface which must
be kept free of dust and debris to ensure optimum instrument performance.
Each day, prior to beginning use of the
pH SAFE Reader
, inspect the surface of
the tip of the instrument Sample Probe. If any dust and/or debris material has
accumulated it is necessary to clean the Fiber Optic Probe tip surface.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to the optical surface of the Fiber Optic Probe
tip observe the following precautions:
•
Do not perform this procedure if a visual inspection of the FIber
Optic Probe tip surface does not indicate cleaning is necessary.
Clean the probe tip only if dust and/or debris particles are
obviously visible on the probe tip surface.
•
Never use solvents or water when cleaning the tip surface.
•
Avoid touching the optical surface at the tip of the Fiber Optic
Probe with your fingers.
