6.5 System Settings
Chapter 6 Using the Options Menu

Proceed as follows:
1. From the
System Menu
screen, use the
Up / Down Arrow
keys as necessary to
scroll the list until the
8. READ RATIO
option is displayed on the lower line
of the screen. Press the
<Enter>
key to select use of this function. The
screen will update to display the following prompt:
Use the keypad or barcode reader to enter the appropriate pHID.
NOTE:
If the user proceeds without entering a pHID, the system will either
use the default value (05050) or the pHID value that was entered for
the previous read.
2. After entering the pHID, the following screen is displayed:
3. Refer to Figure 6-2. Place the platelet storage bag onto the instrument
measurement platform and insert the Fiber Optic Probe of the instrument
into the opening at the top of the pH SAFE Sensor of the bag
4. Slide the pH SAFE Sensor of the platelet storage bag onto the pH SAFE
Reader Fiber Optic Probe until it snaps into place at the top of the sensor.
Ensure sensor is aligned with probe on reader. Avoid scraping the sensor on
the probe.

5. Press the
<Enter>
key to begin the measurement test.
NOTE:
If the
<Options>
key is pressed at this time, the test is aborted and the
screen returns to the
System Menu
.
