If a pHID has not been programmed into the instrument a warning will be 
displayed.  Please contact technical support to enable the appropriate pHID.

Read pH

Following the entry of the necessary identification information for the pH 
measurement test of a platelet storage bag,  the screen will display the following 
prompt:

Proceed as follows:

3. Refer to Figure 5-1. Place the platelet storage bag onto the instrument 

measurement platform and insert the Fiber Optic Probe of the instrument 
into the opening at the top of the pH SAFE Sensor of the bag.

4. Slide the pH SAFE Sensor of the platelet storage bag onto the pH SAFE 

Reader Fiber Optic Probe until it snaps into place at the top of the sensor.  
Ensure sensor is aligned with probe on reader.  Avoid scraping the sensor on 
the probe.  When the test is successfully completed the screen updates to 
display the platelet storage bag ID and the calculated pH test result, for 
example:

Discard Result menu. Proceed to Section 5.6, Save/Print Test Results.
