Annex Manager User Guide

Chapter 5

Setup Mode Basics

T

he Annex Manager Setup mode appears in the main window when

you first use Annex Manager software. This mode allows you to configure
one or more Annexes by setting the most commonly used parameters.

The Setup mode limits your access to Annex Manager commands.
If you use this mode, you can use the

Open Annex List, Save Annex

List, Boot, Broadcast, Discover Annexes, Edit Configuration, WAN Internal
Modems, Reset, Setup, SNMP Information, Confirm Auto Reset

, and all

Status

 commands. Commands that are unavailable appear in gray

text.

You can use the

Mode

 heading in the menu bar of the main window

to switch from Setup to Customize mode. Customize mode allows
you to set individual Annex parameters and provides access to all
main menu commands. For details, see Part 3 of this book,
Customize Mode.

A series of Setup mode windows allows you to change Annex settings.
Each window groups related settings and provides access to fields based
on your previous selections. You can select:

•

The

General

 window to change the most commonly used Annex

settings. If you click

, a second window allows you to

view and change additional Annex settings.

•

The

Async Ports

 window to select one or more ports. If you click

, you can change port and modem configurations.

•

The

WAN Modules

window to select the WAN Module whose

settings you want to view or change. If you click

, you

can set the WAN Module parameters.

•

The

SNMP Settings

window to enable, disable, and set threshold

values for SNMP traps on a Model 5399 Remote Access
Concentrator Module WAN Interface.

•

The

Call Defaults

 window to set the most commonly used

parameters for ISDN Primary Rate Annexes. If you click

, you can change port and modem configurations.
