guide according to pump channel.

Using the Optional Prime Function

Overview

The optional Prime function can be used to assist clinicians in preparing 
a primary administration set for infusion.

If Prime is not displayed on the Programming Modes menu, this feature 
has not been enabled.

Priming the Administration Set

Note:

The administration set’s drip chamber should be at least one third 

full prior to using the prime function to ensure that fluid will enter 

the administration set.

Note:

Prime cannot be selected if an 

Air

 alarm is active.

Note:

Air detection is disabled when priming is active.

! WARNING !

If flow is observed when tubing is loaded but the pump is not running, close the 
regulating clamp immediately. Ensure that all steps have been properly 
performed. If flow is still observed, remove the pump from service and contact 
Baxter-trained, qualified personnel.

! WARNING !

Do not connect the administration set to the patient when priming.
