Managing SNMP traps
An SNMP trap is a notification sent by the appliance to a management station, indicating that an
event has occurred in the appliance that may require further attention. You may specify which
individual SNMP traps are sent to the management stations by simply enabling the appropriate
checkboxes, or you may enable/disable all traps. The CCM appliance has enterprise traps. To
properly interpret these traps, download the CCM trap MIB from the Avocent web site.
To enable or disable SNMP traps:
1. Click the
Settings
tab in the CCM AMP.
2. Select the
SNMP - Traps
subcategory. A list of traps is displayed. Traps that are currently
enabled are checked; disabled traps are unchecked.
3. Enable or disable the individual traps’ checkboxes.

To enable all traps, click the
Enable All
button.

To disable all traps, click the
Disable All
button.
4. Click
Apply
to save any changes without exiting the AMP.

Click
OK
to save any changes and exit the AMP.
-or-
Click
Cancel
to exit the AMP without saving any changes.
Viewing Device Connection Information
The Devices category displays connection information for each device. The Connections column
identifies the port to which the device is connected. If there is no device connection, the Devices
column will indicate
None
.
Clicking on a connection launches the Serial Console Viewer.
You may resynchronize the database on your system with the database on the appliance from
this panel.
Resynchronizing the device list
During the resynchronization process, a warning message will indicate that the database will be
updated to match the current configuration in the appliance. This warning contains a checkbox that
indicates whether devices that are configured with default names should be excluded. If devices are
excluded, they will not be added to (or they may be removed from) the database if they already
