Preventive Maintenance

Walk-Around Inspection

(1,200 Hours)

Fuel System

Fuel Filter

• Replace fuel filter(s). Fill new filter(s) with

clean fuel prior to installation to reduce

air in fuel system (refer to manufacturers’

documentation for procedure).

DEF System

DEF Tank Filter

• Remove and inspect the DEF tank filter and

inspect (Figure 43). Replace if necessary.

• Refer to “Diesel Engine and Emissions

Service Manual AWE 00193” for detailed

information on servicing this filter.

Brake System

Slack Adjuster

• Inspect the slack adjuster operation,

mounting and adjustment (Refer to

equipment manufacturer’s documentation

for service intervals, procedures and

specifications).

Cab Tilt Pump

• Check cab tilt hydraulic oil level.

Air Conditioning

• Inspect the sight glass to determine if

moisture is present. If the sight glass shows

a blue indicator, the A/C dryer is in good

working condition. If the sight glass shows

a pink indicator, the A/C dryer must be

replaced.

• Change air conditioning system dryer as

required.

Air Compressor

• Inspect the air compressor mounting for

proper attachment, cracks and evidence of

leaks.

• Check that all air and coolant connections

are tight and leak free.

Under Tractor Inspection

(1,200 Hours)

Rear Axle

• Replace axle lubricant and filter. Inspect

magnetic drain plug for excess metal

particles.

• Clean the drain plug and reinstall.
• Clean the breather.
• Inspect wheel seals for leakage.
