ACTT Xspotter Service Manual

Additional Checks for Two-Speed Fan

Drives

Check the Two-Speed Mechanism, (while air

is applied to the fan drive) by rotating the fan

and clutch pack in both directions (independent

from the pulley).

• Check for damaged or broken magnets

and for interference between the magnet

assembly and fan mounting disc. If

damaged or broken, repair the fan drive

with the appropriate repair kit, or replace as

needed.

NOTICE

A contaminated air supply may damage

the fan clutch assembly. Anytime system

contamination is present take the

necessary steps to correct the situation

and purge the air lines.

Air Conditioning Refrigerant

• Verify air conditioning refrigerant charge is

at the correct level and the system operates

correctly.

• Capacity 2.4lb +/- .25lb.

Compressor

• Inspect air conditioner compressor base

and mounting for proper attachment, cracks

and evidence of leaks.

System Lines, Hoses and Connections

• Check all air conditioning system lines,

hoses and connections for evidence of

leakage. Current production tractors use

a fluorescent dye in the refrigerant. Use a

black light to look for leaks.

Under Tractor Inspection (300 Hours)

Note: Any fastener or driveline component

with a shiny, metallic appearance, or having

rust streaks, indicates a loose or broken

part.

Driveline

• Check U-joints and slip yokes for free

play during lubrication procedure. Inspect

driveline for loose bolts. Rotate driveline,

checking for excessive play in U-joints (not

to exceed 0.063 in. [1.60 mm]). Check all

driveline fasteners for looseness. Any shiny

area, or rust stains in the driveline indicate

that there is a loose driveline part. Inspect

center bearings for leaks and free play

(0.063 in. [1.60 mm]). Push and pull shaft,

checking for run-out at splines (should be

between 0.063 in. [1.60 mm]).

Engine

• Check engine mounts for cracks and

deterioration.

• Verify all engine mounting fasteners are

tightened to the correct torque.

Transmission

• Check the transmission output bearing

(driveshaft yoke) for movement (Refer to

transmission manufacturer’s documentation

for procedure and specifications).
