Mounting Instruction
Chain drive KSA xxx-24 V / 230V
Maintenance and care / cleaning
To guarantee faultless operation, the following work has to be
carried out after 1000 opening cycles and / or at least once a
year in accordance with DIN18232 / VdS- guidelines / model
building regulations and manufacturer's guidelines:
1. Disconnect control system from power supply during
cleaning or other maintenance work.
2. Check all clamping and mounting screws for firm seating
and tighten as necessary.
3. Check system for imbalance and signs of deterioration or
damage to cables, springs and mounting parts.
4. Check that the window casement is seated optimally in the
window frame. Adjust the mounting devices of the window
and adjust the pressure on the seals as necessary.
5. In case of a defect, do not try to repair the drive yourself.
Do not remove the drive housing or other accessories. In
case of equipment damage consult the manufacturer.
Use only spare parts of the manufacturer.
6. During cleaning of the window, drives may not come into
direct contact with water or cleaning materials containing
lyes and acids.
7. Protect drives during construction or renovation phases.
During work on the interior or exterior (e.g. wall papering or
painting) ensure that drives are protected from dirt and
dust.
Recommendation:
To guarantee flawless functioning
of the system and a long life
span of the equipment, we recom-
mend that our trained, specialized
personnel service the system at
least once a year.
The functionality test should be
conducted on a monthly basis.
The running direction of the drives
should be checked with the
OPEN-CLOSED button.

Activation of power-driven window
The activation element of switches with a preset OFF- (e.g.
key switch) must be mounted in direct visual range of the
driven part and at a safe distance from any moving parts. If it
isn't a key switch, the activation element must be mounted at
least 1,5 m high and be inaccessible to the general public.
Drives
that are equipped with a manual trigger must have a
sign describing use of same. The sign must be affixed perma-
nently and easily visible in close proximity to the manual trig-
ger.
When the window is being opened, it is not permitted for per-
sonnel to stay directly under or next to the window (within the
opening radius of the casement). This is due to the fact that
activation of the manual trigger may cause uncontrolled
movement of the driven part, e.g. through mechanical
malfunction or imbalance.
Do not allow children to play with firmly mounted electronic
control modules and keep remote controls out of their reach.
Keep other persons at a safe distance, when activating a
switch with preset OFF
. Keep them also at a safe distance,
when a window is closing that was opened through a fire
alarm system.
A window may not be used during repair or adjustment work.
