Mounting Instruction
Chain drive KSA xxx-24 V / 230V
General installation advices
General adjustment possibilities
- turn the stud screw a max. of 5 mm = 7 complete turns
of the screw
(This optimizes the drive for quiet operation)
Set pre-tension of chain on site
- only for bottom hung windows
- for other casement types do not change
the factory setting !

Pay attention to the rigidity
of the rear part of the chain !
- The drive has an electronic path measurement. If the chain
is unlocked manually and completely pulled out by hand,
ensure during start-up operation that the chain retracts
from approx. 40 mm before the CLOSE-position in the
soft run mode and that it closes smoothly.
- Repeat steps several times as necessary

bow-shaped running curve of chain
In case that the soft run is not realized during the retraction
of the chain:
- Unlock with unlocking key and pull out completely by hand
- Move drive again electrically in CLOSE direction
In case the soft run begins too early, this will be recognized
by the drive electronics and adjusted accordingly during the
next outward movement of the chain.
For tandem / tridem applications ensure that the drives move
only as one overall unit of slave + (slave 2).
The chains should always be pulled out manually and moved
in a CLOSE direction electrically with the same space interval.

For slanted and vertical applications ensure that the chain
falls by itself into its rigid rear part.
For vertical mounting of drive/s (e.g. for side hung windows
mounted on HSK) the drive should be mounted with the side
of the motor (cable exit) facing upward.
Recommendation:
Depending on the mounting orientation it is absolutely
essential to consider the
and the rigidity
of the rear part of the chain!

If the chain does not move inward in the soft run
mode it may result in damage to the drive trans-
mission and to a malfunction of the drive!
