Risk assessment
for power-driven casements (machines)
in accordance with EN ISO 14121-1 & EN ISO 12100-1,-2
General procedure
Information
After the planner has made a risk assessment for power-driven
casements and documented same in construction requirements, it is
the responsibility of the installer to make another risk assessment and
check that the specifications of the planner have been met.
In case that the specifications for the appropriate protection class are
not met, further risk reduction steps must be taken.
Excerpt from machines directive 2006/42/EG
„The manufacturer of machinery or his authorised representative
must ensure that a risk assessment is carried out in order to deter-
mine the health and safety requirements which apply to the
machinery.
The machinery must then be designed and constructed taking into
account the results of the risk assessment.“

Turning over of assembly and operating instructions

after assembly and placing into operation, the installer of a ma-
chine "power-driven casement" must turn over the assembly and
operating instructions to the end user.

the end user must keep these instructions in a secure place and
use them if need be.
