Mounting Instruction
Chain drive KSA xxx-24 V / 230V
Checks prior to assembly
Check assembly requirements
Application area / window type and the actual constructural
situation will result in different drive assembly requirements.
These should be determined / checked accordingly by
consulting the special assembly and planning diagrams
In general, the following should be pre-checked:
- Are the supporting surfaces and constructural situation
adequate for the intended load transfer?
- Does the assembly surface require an additional
structural support?
- Is there enough space for the pivotal motion of the drive?
- Are there adequate measures to prevent thermal bridges
(thermal separation) at the contact points?
If not, inform the operator accordingly !
Instructions regarding load transfer
of the drives on the casement profile:
The supporting surface of the brackets and casement
brackets must rest completely on the casement / frame
profile. Preclude any tilting motions of the mounting com-
ponents while the spindle moves out or retracts. Ensure
that the mounting on the casement profile is firm and se-
cure.
If necessary, use base plates / angles.
Determination of possibly needed protective
measures according to MRL 2006/42/EG
A risk assessment must be conducted to determine appro-
priate protective measures. Furthermore, the user must be
advised about any remaining risks. (Aumüller may provide
separate documentation upon request.)
Predictable faulty application
A predictable faulty application must be avoided at all
costs!
A few examples follow:

Attention: Important instructions for safe assembly! Adhere to all instructions!
Improper assembly may lead to serious injuries!
Storing of drives on construction site prior to
assembly
Preventive measures must be taken against damage due to
dust, humidity or soiling (e.g. through appropriate covering
with foils or storage in cartons). Prior to assembly, interme-
diate storage of drives is only permissible in dry and well
ventilated areas.
Checking of drives prior to assembly
Prior to assembly, drives must checked to ensure that they
are complete and in good mechanical condition. Drives
must run easily in both directions. We recommend our
examination case for drives
24V= / 230V~ (ord.no.: 533981).
Damaged products may not be put into operation under any
circumstances. Report any damages immediately to the
supplier / manufacturer.
Drives should be tested only on a skid-proof
surface or appropriate testing device.
During trial operation there
should be no physical contact with
the extending chain.
The chain should move in and out in a 90° angle.
The testing procedure may only be carried out under the
supervision of specially trained and authorized personnel.
Instructions for intended use
Check to see that drive application is in accordance with the
specified application area / range. Any other use leads to
voided warranty. The end user must be advised of the in-
tended use of the drives. In particular, he must be advised
that no additional forces may impact on the drive chain
except for pressure and tension in opening and closing
direction.
Required warning signs may have to be attached.
