Maintenance and Service

4.6.5.2 Adjusting the Spring Washers

To adjust the number of spring washers:

1. If you have not already done so, remove the micro-adjustment cap from the film coater. See

Figure 4-11.

2. Remove the four screws securing the film coater cap to the upper-body module.

3. Carefully remove the film coater cap.

4. Use the retaining ring pliers (supplied with the SC-105HS service kit) to remove the retaining

ring (8) while holding the flat washers and spring washers (7) in place.

5. Pull the flat washers and spring washers out of the film coater cap. Place the flat washers

and spring washers over the blade of a small screwdriver for safekeeping. Pay attention to

the order and orientation of the flat washers and spring washers.

6. See Figure 4-12. Add or remove spring washers as necessary.

7. See Figure 4-11. Reinstall the flat washers and spring washers. Make sure the spring

washers are correctly oriented.

8. Reinstall the retaining ring into the groove in the film coater cap.

9. Readjust the preload screw as described in

4.6.5.3 Adjusting Preload Tension
