4.5.4 Removing the Tilt Mechanism and Rotate Pulley
To remove the tilt mechanism and rotate pulley:
1. Remove the lower screw and bearing securing the tilt link to the tilt lever.
2. Remove the nozzle from the nozzle holder.
3. Unscrew the swivel base from the extension.
CAUTION!
Do not rotate the nozzle holder in the swivel base. Rotating the nozzle holder may
cause the slot in the swivel base to cut the O-ring.
4. Using a 0.050-inch Allen wrench, remove the set screw from the tilt lever.
5. Pull the tilt lever from the nozzle holder.
6. Keeping the nozzle port visible through the swivel base opening, pull the nozzle holder from
the swivel base.
7. Inspect the Chemraz O-ring in the needle holder for nicks.
Replace the O-ring only if necessary.
8. Soak the swivel base and nozzle holder in the appropriate solvent.
9. Pull the bearing shifter from the extension. It is not necessary to remove the tilt link from the
bearing shifter.
10. Loosen (but do not remove) the rotate pulley screw and clamps. Slide the rotate pulley off the
extension.
Make sure the screw does not fall out of the rotate pulley assembly.
