Configuring the Host Server
To boot the software through PXE, perform the following steps on the host server:
1. Copy the EFI images content on the ISO to the /tftpboot/7210 directory.
$ mount PCIE7210-BOOT-ISO.iso /mnt
$ mkdir –p /tftpboot/7210
$ cp –r /mnt/images /mnt/EFI /tftpboot/7210
2. Copy the
grub.cfg
file available in the /tftpboot/7210/EFI/BOOT location to
/tftpboot/7210/EFI directory.
$ cp /tftpboot/7210/EFI/BOOT/grub.cfg /tftpboot/7210/EFI
3. Modify the following lines in the
grub.cfg
file.
linuxefi /images/vmlinuz …………
initrdefi /images/ramfs.gz
to
linuxefi /7210/images/vmlinuz …………
initrdefi /7210/images/ramfs.gz
TFTP Server Configuration
Modify the TFTP server configuration as shown in the sample tftp file, generally available in
/etc/xinetd.d location.
# default: off
# description: The tftp server serves files using the trivial file
# transfer protocol. The tftp protocol is often used to boot
# diskless workstations, download configuration files to network-
# aware printers and to start the installation process for some
# operating systems.
