You can get the list of functions for each slot and device. With the location string, you can find
the PCI address of the functions at the management CPU in format
<bus:slot.function>.
You can use the
lscpi
command to get more information about all PCI buses and devices.
7.6.2.4 List CPUs
To list CPUs and their root ports, use the following command.
mccs_tool.py --method=list-cpus
You can get the list of CPUs and root ports for each slot.
7.6.2.5 Assign a device function to a CPU
To assign a device function to a CPU, you have to know the corresponding slot number, the
device number and the function number. Also, you have to know the slot number, the CPU
number and the root port number of the CPU. You can get this information using the list
methods
list-cpus
and
list-devices
.
If a device function is already assigned to another CPU, you have to remove it first with the
remove-func
method. The assignment will be applied only after the next boot, by calling
apply-config
.
The MaxCore system has 15 slots and you will see a 16th slot in the lists. Behind the16th slot is
the onboard 82599 Ethernet device.
You can assign the function using the following command.
mccs_tool.py --method=assign-func --cpu=<slot,cpu,root-port> --
func=<slot,device-number,func-number>
For example, to assign function at slot 14, device number 1 and function number 2 to CPU
number 2 root port 2 at slot 3:
mccs_tool.py --method=assign-func --cpu=3,2,2 --func=14,1,2
After successful assignment, the
pci-stub
driver will be loaded for the device function at the
management CPU. You can see the function in the pci tree of the assigned CPU you have to
boot or reboot.
