Timer and Counter Instructions
RES - Reset
Instruction Type: output
The RES instruction resets timers, counters, and control elements. When
the RES instruction is executed, it resets the data defined by the RES
instruction.
The RES instruction has no effect when the rung state is false. The
following table shows which elements are modified:
Addressing Modes and File Types can be used as shown in the following
table:

RES Instruction Operation
When using a RES instruction with a:
Timer Element
Counter Element
Control Element
The controller resets the:
ACC value to 0
DN bit
TT bit
EN bit
The controller resets the:
ACC value to 0
OV bit
UN bit
DN bit
CU bit
CD bit
The controller resets the:
POS value to 0
EN bit
EU bit
DN bit
EM bit

ATTENTION
Because the RES instruction resets the accumulated value and status bits,
do not use the RES instruction to reset a timer address used in a TOF
instruction. If the TOF accumulated value and status bits are reset,
unpredictable machine operation or injury to personnel may occur.
