Chapter 3

VEE Measurement Program Operation

Measurement

Search Pitch

Specifies a pitch of the search a track.

3. Click on the [Erase] button to erase a whole specified area.

4. Click on the [Write] button to write a track at the specified start position. A data

pattern, channel bit rate and write current can be set in [More Config.].

5. Click on the [Unload] button to unload a head, then replace the HGA. If necessary, the

HGA dimension and cassette part number should be set by clicking on the [Cassette
Parameter].

Even when a head is unloaded, the spindle is still running to avoid a media slipping.

6. Click on the [Search] button to find a track. After finding a track, the head position is

changed where it is by actuating X-Y stages. Then, a track profile measurement is
made. Its result (profile curve and read/write offset) is displayed on the left of the
screen. The setting of the track profile measurement can be specified by clicking on the
[Profile Setup].

NOTE

A value of the read/write offset result does not affect a read offset in the setup menu.
