If at any time while configuring a measurement you notice some of the higher
oversampling rate choices not available, this means those choices would have
exceeded the 2 GHz sampling rate when multiplied by the external clock
rate. The interface will not make those choices available to you until the
external clock rate decreases.

Oversampling by 4

Once oversampling is set to a value greater than 1, arrows marking the
samples acquired at the specified clock edges appear in the Listing menu.  In
the Waveform menu, the clocked states are marked with triangular tick
marks at the top of the waveform display.

See Also

"Show States Field" in the Listing menu chapter for more information on
displaying externally clocked states and oversampled states.

The analyzer will not trigger on points of oversampling.

 

The only points where the analyzer will trigger are the user’s external clock
transitions.  If triggering is needed on these oversampled points, and the user
clock is less than 500 MHz, convert from state mode to timing mode where all
triggering is at 500 MHz.
