Configuring settings

On the
Probe Resistance
Information tab, press
next to the resistance field you want to change for
each block and sample probe.

R0
- Set the sample and/or block probe resistance
at 0 °C to a value between to 5510
Ω
and 6090
Ω

R-10
- Set the sample and/or block probe
resistance at -10C to a value between to 8376
Ω
and
9712
Ω
.
3.
Press
SAVE
and then follow the onscreen
instructions.
The changed resistance settings are saved and
logged to the Events database.
4.
Power off the instrument and wait 15 seconds.
5.
Power on the instrument.
6.
From the Home screen, press
>
SETTINGS >
PROBE RESISTANCE
.
7.
Press the
Thermal Module Setup
tab and follow the
instructions on the screen.
Once the testing is complete, the slope and intercept
values are saved to the system firmware.
8.
Recalibrate the instrument from the Home screen
(see
NOTE:
Open calibration standards before use. Do not
open them in advance.
5.5 Setting up networking communications
A network administrator can help you set up or
troubleshoot the instrument to connect to a network in
order to send data, back up files, or use a network time
server.
Configuring a LAN connection
The instrument can connect to a computer or other
devices over a local area network (LAN).
1.
Plug an Ethernet cable into the Ethernet connector
(see
Setting up networking communications
2.
Press
NETWORKING
and log in.
3.
Press the
LAN
tab.
4.
Select one of the following network protocols:
•
Static IP
(recommended for best results): Assigning
an unchanging static IP address to the instrument
makes it easier for other devices to contact the
instrument over the network.

IP Address

Press
and enter the
Subnet Mask
.
c.
Press
and enter the
Default Gateway
.
d.
Press
and enter the
DNS Server
.
•
DHCP
(Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol): A
DHCP server dynamically assigns an IP address and
other network parameters to the instrument.
The
IP Address
,
Subnet Mask
, and
Default Gateway
are entered automatically, and can change each time
the instrument connects to the network.
5.
Enter the host name (up to 32 characters)—
especially if more than one OsmoTECH XT is
connected to the network.
6.
Press
Save
.
