Should you F hoose to apply an insulation blanket to this
heater, you should follow these instru F tions See the

proper F ombustion, potentially resulting in fire, asphyxiation,
serious personal injury or death
‡ DO NOT apply insulation to the top of the water heater, as
this will interfere with safe operation of the draft F ontrol
‡ DO NOT F over the gas F ontrol valve, thermostat or the
Temperature-Pressure Relief Valve
‡ DO NOT allow insulation to F ome within 2 ´ (5 F m) of the
burners, to prevent blo F kage of F ombustion air À ow to the
burners
‡ DO NOT F over the instru F tion manual Keep it on the side of
the water heater or nearby for future referen F e
‡ DO obtain new warning and instru F tion labels from the
manufa F turer for pla F ement on the blanket dire F tly over the
existing labels
‡ DO inspe F t the insulation blanket frequently to make F ertain
it does not sag, thereby obstru F ting F ombustion air À ow
HARD WATER
Where hard water F onditions exist, water softening or the
threshold type of water treatment is re F ommended This will
prote F t the dishwashers, F offee urns, water heaters, water piping
and other equipment

CIRCULATION PUMPS
A F ir F ulating pump is used when a system requires a F ir F ulating
loop or there is a storage tank used in F onjun F tion with the water
