Date/time display
on telephones is
wrong, either Jan
1, 1997 or just
random
characters
A power surge has
corrupted the
system time.
If the display shows Jan 1, 1997, use
NetSet to reset the system time. If the
display shows random characters, for
example 00; 0 #, you must:
1
Disconnect power to the chassis that
holds the call processor.
2
Wait 60 seconds.
3
Reconnect power to the system.
4
Use NetSet to enter the correct date
and time.
Problem with
Network Call
Processor battery.
Contact your NBX 100 technical support
representative. See “Servicing the Network
Call Processor Battery” in the
NBX 100
Administrator’s Guide
for more
information.
One or both
chassis fans stop
operating
No problem.
The chassis power supply incorporates a
load sensing mechanism. If you do not
have any cards in the chassis, the fans do
not operate.
Power connector
from fan assembly
to the chassis
backplane is loose.
Remove the fan assembly from the left side
of the chassis (2 Phillips-head screws).
Make sure that the fan assembly power
connector is attached. CAUTION: Shut
down the NBX 100 software and
disconnect power before removing the fan
assembly.
Fan assembly is
defective.
If the power connection is OK, replace the
fan assembly as soon as possible. In the
meantime, to help reduce heat buildup in
the chassis, you can take the following
steps:
1
Remove the top cover of the chassis.
2
Remove any hub cards and line cards
that do not have active connections.
3
Remove any blank faceplate covers.
