Adding an ISDN BRI
Digital Line Card

Adding an ISDN BRI Digital Line Card to an NBX 100 chassis, requires:

■

Preparation (ordering the BRI line and preparing the NBX 100)

■

Inserting the BRI Digital Line Card in the NBX 100 chassis

■

Configuring the BRI Digital Line Card parameters

Preparation

Before you insert the BRI Digital Line Card into the NBX 100 chassis,
perform these steps:

Order an ISDN BRI line, with the specifications you want, from your
telephone carrier, and have them install the line.

In the NBX NetSet - Main Menu, click the

System Configuration

icon.

In the System Configuration screen, click the

System Settings

tab.

Depending on how you access this screen, the System Settings tab may
be already selected.

Click the

Auto Discover Digital Line Cards

check box.

It does not matter if any of the other check boxes are selected or not
selected.

Click

Inserting the ISDN BRI

Digital Line Card

To insert the BRI Digital Line Card into the NBX 100 chassis, you do

not

need to remove power from the NBX 100. Perform these steps:

Write down the MAC address of the BRI card.

You can find the MAC address on a label on the board. The address starts
with 00e0 (zero, zero, e, zero).

Choose a slot for the BRI card in the NBX 100 chassis, and use a Phillips
screwdriver to remove the filler panel from the slot.

Insert the BRI card into the slot.

Slide the BRI card into the chassis until you feel it touch the connectors.

To seat the BRI card into the connectors, press the front of the card firmly.

By hand, tighten the left and right screws on the front of the BRI card to
secure it to the NBX 100 chassis.

Wait 3 minutes.
