DESCRIPTION
802.11d Support
Select this to enable support for the 802.11d wireless standard .The purpose
of this standard is to provide regulation domains for each country in a
predefined list. The regulation domains and country information are provided
as part of the beacon’s and probe response.
MAC Authentication
Select this option to authenticate each ESSID connection by using a client
computer’s MAC address and an associated RADIUS server. Even if a client
computer does not support 802.1x authentication its connection can still be
authenticated in this manner.
Beacon Rate Control
Select this option if you wish to tune the beacon distribution mechanism. You
can tune the system to provide customized beacon coverage.
In Band Management
Select this option to allow management of the switch using computers
connected to the NXC-8160 through a particular ESSID or group or ESSIDs.
In band management ESSIDs must be on the same VLAN as the switch
management VLAN.
Rate Adaptation
Offset
This option allows you to change the decision point for rate adaptation either
up or down and in doing so guarantee that the connection is maintained. The
trade-off is lower connection speeds.
Note: There is no need to change the default setting for this
option unless there are cases which require
compensation due to an unbalanced link
RSSI Aging
This option determines how long an RSSI reading is valid if no new readings
are available.
