Connecting the Power Supply to the Model 25
The Model 25 power supply comes pre-wired for connection to the Model 25 Encoder. All
that is required is inserting the power supply connector into position “P4” located on the rear
panel of the Model 25.
As always, good grounding practices must be used to insure that all devices in the system are
provided with a proper ground. Figure 5 shows the connection of the power supply and
location of a tie point for connection of a console ground wire.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
Initial Conditions
The site grounding system has been designed and installed
The power supply for the Model 25 has been installed and tested
The requirements for this system have been determined and the necessary jumper
settings and programming configuration worked out
Procedure
1.
Unpack the Model 25 and verify that it is in good condition.
2.
Set all the jumpers and switches as necessary for proper operation in this system. For
information on jumper and switch settings, see Table 7 on page 38.
3.
Mount the Model 25 and connect its PTT and Control relays to the appropriate inputs
on the console.
4.
Connect the TX audio lines from the Model 25 to the appropriate inputs on the console.
5.
Connect the power supply to the Model 25.
6.
Make the initial TX level adjustments to the Model 25 to provide normal signal
deviation over the radio.
7.
Program the leading digits and assign paging formats in the Model 25.
8.
Return to the normal idle state and make as many test pages as necessary to confirm the
operation of the paging encoder.
INITIAL TESTING
Once the encoder has been powered on, several installation aids may be invoked to help in
adjustments and programming verification.
