the PC (not any USB or network printers). By use of the Model 25’s “Review All” feature, a
printout of the “Send Button”, “Remote Control”, “Block Assignments”, “Custom Calls”,
and “Instant Call” programming sections is possible.
Another way to create a text record of programming is to use the
F2
key (File On/Off).
Enable the text file function before programming the unit and turn it off again once you have
finished. This leaves you with a file that can be edited with almost any text editor and printed
out later on the printer of your choice.
As described in the “PROGRAMMING ENCODER FROM FRONT PANEL” chapter, five
programming sections exist. Each “section” relates to a different set of features in the Model
25 and allows the parameters in that section to be individually configured. The first question
of each Section is the same and as shown here:
1 - Program Parameters
2 - Review All Parameters
3 - Review Selected Parameters
Entering either #2 or #3 will instruct the Model 25 to output the configuration information of
the current section to the Configuration Program Edit Screen. If the
F1
or
F2
function is
enabled, then this information will also be sent to the printer connected to the parallel printer
port or to a text file.
ENTERING PROGRAMMING FROM A PC
Once the serial port connection has been made and the monitor is displaying the idle
condition prompt (see Figure 14 on page 103), you enter the programming mode by typing
the letter “P” from the PC keyboard.
Note:
If you are using a generic terminal emulation program (such as HyperTerminal
or ProComm), the keyboard entries are case sensitive. All the letters entered must
be upper case. If you are using the Zetron Model 25 Configuration program, all
entries will be automatically converted to upper case by the program.
The Model 25 will respond by displaying the following menu.
**** Main Menu ****
A - SEND BUTTON SETUP
B - FORMAT ASSIGNMENT
C - INSTANT CALL BUTTONS
D - REMOTE CONTROL SETUP
0 - CUSTOM CALL SETUP
------------------------
! - CLEARING AND INITIALIZING
1 - INSTALLATION AIDS
# - START SELF-TESTS

The first five items in this menu are the save programming sections available when
programming the Model 25 from the front panel. The same letters are even used to select the
specific items.
