An example of connection to a CRT or video terminal is shown in Table 28. Since a terminal
is to be used for remote controlling of the encoder, the encoder must be in the remote control
mode. Some terminals might use the
CTS
signal, which is available in this mode. Many
terminals will require that their own input signals (such as
RTS
and
CD
) be tied to the proper
level before they will operate. Consult the manual for the terminal.

MODEL 25 CONFIGURATION PROGRAM
While it is not necessary to use the Model 25 Configuration Program to communicate with
and program the Model 25, this simple utility has been designed to streamline these tasks and
is provided free along with every Model 25. While most of the programming capabilities
remain available when using generic terminal emulation software, there are a few capabilities
that are only available when using the Model 25 Configuration Program. Most notable
among these would be the capability to upload and download configuration files.
The Model 25 Configuration Program provides all of the features needed to program the
Model 25, store the configuration to your hard drive, and retrieve the Configuration file for
downloading to the Model 25.
This program is “interactive”, meaning that the computer running the “Configuration
Program” must be connected to the Model 25 for all programming, uploading, and
downloading.
Since this program runs on a PC, it is assumed that the individual using this program is
familiar with the basic operation of the Windows operating system.
The Program Disk
The CD-ROM supplied contains the Model 25 Configuration Program and runs on Windows-
compatible computers. This CD may be loaded onto the computer’s hard drive by creating a
folder on the hard drive and copying the files from the supplied CD it into the folder on the
hard drive.
