The last three items on the menu use new characters to be selected. Entering an exclamation
point (!) selects Clearing and Initializing. This opens a submenu that lets you be more
selective about just what part of the encoder’s memory you clear and reset to defaults.
The Installation Aids and the Self-Tests are used when installing the encoder in a system or
after repairing the system to confirm that it is all functioning correctly.
CLEARING AND INITIALIZING A SECTION
To open the menu for Clearing and Initializing, enter an exclamation point (!) at the top
menu prompt. The following prompt will appear asking you to confirm that you really do
want to clear part of the memory of the Model 25. You must press the “
C
” key within 5
seconds or the encoder will return to the idle state.
CLEAR? PRESS C IF SURE!
The following menu will open to allow you to select a specific part of memory to clear.
1-CLEAR SECTIONS 2, 5, AND 6
2-CLEAR ALL INSTANT CALL BUTTONS
3-CLEAR ALL CUSTOM CALLS
4-CLEAR ALL SECTIONS

”, refers to the programming sections for Format
Assignments, General Operation and Send Button Setup, and Remote Control Setup. Items 2
through 4 are self-explanatory.
When the Model 25 has completed clearing the variables for the selected section, it will
return to the idle state.
PAGING FORMAT SELECTION
Enter a “B” at the top menu prompt in order to open the submenu for assigning paging
formats to leading digits within the encoder. The opening menu for format selection will look
like the following.
1-CHANGE SETTINGS
2-PRINT ALL SETTINGS
3-PRINT SELECTED SETTINGS

You will enter a “1” to start working your way through the question loop for format
programming. Next, you will be prompted to select a leading digit to assign a format to.
