Auxiliary Panel Installation

Two-conductor, shielded cable is strongly recommended for interconnecting the panels since
the loop data conductor may radiate some radio interference. The shielded cable should
contain the loop data and ground conductors. The power supply wires may also be inside the
same shield if you wish to daisy chain the power as well, but keep in mind the possible
voltage drop (I x R) for long cable runs. The cable between panels must be less than 30
meters (100 feet) in length.

CONNECTING POWER
The power is connected to the encoder via the two spade lug connectors (see Figure 10). Two
mating female crimp connectors are supplied with the auxiliary panel. Use a minimum wire
gauge of 18 when connecting the power. The power wires should either be tightly twisted or
shielded (shield connects to earth and panel chassis) from the power source, otherwise the
power conductors may radiate some radio interference. When connecting the power, be sure
the polarity is correct. However, the auxiliary panel is polarity protected. Note that the
chassis is not connected to the signal or power ground.
