Z21 XL BOOSTER
32
Attention:
In case of mixed operation of different boosters that do not support RailCom,
RailCom must be deactivated on the
Z21 XL BOOSTER
(see chapter "Connecting the Booster
- Track Output" and chapter “Stop Button and Configuration”).
INFO:
If you do not want the short-circuit message to be forwarded to the central unit, it can
be deactivated in the this can be deactivated in the booster (see chapter "STOP Button and
Configuration").
Connecting the Booster - Track Output
The
Z21 XL BOOSTER
has two equivalent, internally connected track connections that can deliver a
total of a maximum of 6 A.
ATTENTION: Technical information for high currents
Especially in garden railroad operation, loose, dirty, or oxidized track connectors can easily
occur and this could lead to higher contact resistances on your rails. If a short circuit then
occurs, there is a risk that the Z21 XL Series control panel or the
Z21 XL BOOSTER
Series
cannot detect this short circuit quickly enough and thus continues to supply high currents. In
the worst-case scenario, this could lead to unintentional heating or even to a fire.
In order to avoid this problem, we recommend that you pay attention to the following tips when
wiring:
•
Multiple feed of the track signal to the track system
The more often the track is connected, the lower the contact resistances. For this the supply
line could be arranged in a star or ring shape, for example.
•
Suitable cable cross section
For track 1 and track G we recommend to choose a cable with a cross section of at least
1.5 mm².
•
Ordinary clamping points
Make sure the clamping points are professional, clean and tidy.
