transmits the track signal to be amplified, but also allows convenient configuration and firmware update
of the
Z21 XL BOOSTER
via the Z21 Maintenance Tool. The received RailCom data (RailCom channel 2)
are also transmitted from the Booster to the Z21 via CAN using the ZCAN20 protocol. This makes it pos
-
sible, for example, to read out a vehicle decoder via the POM read commands not only on the main track
of the control station, but also in the booster section. The RailCom setting can be taken over automatical
-
ly from the control center (Auto Settings). See also chapter "Configuration and Firmware Update via CAN
and Z21 Maintenance Tool".
Attention:
The Z21 CAN bus may have a mixed linear and star configuration. However, never
connect the
Z21 XL BOOSTER
behind an occupancy detector 10808. Two examples of valid
CAN bus wiring:
If there is no CAN socket on the control panel, the
Z21 XL BOOSTER
can alternatively be connected to
the Z21 Series control panel via a four-pole B-Bus cable socket using a four-pole B-Bus cable (10757) to
the Z21 Series control unit via the “B-Bus socket. With older control units, the connection may also be
designated as "booster out". In this case it is irrelevant which of the two sockets is used on the booster.
