9. MAINTENANCE
9.2 Trouble Shooting
Although magnetic flowmeters rarely require maintenance, failures occur when the
instrument is not operating correctly.
The following trouble shooting are described from the viewpoint of receiving instrument
indication.
Please avoid removing the converter unit from the case, replacing fuse and alter LCD
orientation. When these procedures are needed, please contact the nearest Yokogawa
offce.

No Indication
Examine the converter display flashing whether an error is displayed.
Deal with the error
according to
"8.2.3 Error Description
and Countermeasure."
Contact the nearest
Yokogawa office or service
center.
Check that the flow tube is
filled with the liquid.

Execute either of the
followings.
a. Install flow tube to make
flow arrow agree with the
flow direction.
b. Change the set value in
"B14: FLOW DIR".
Demount the flow tube and
check the inside.

Check the resistance
between the meter signal
terminals A, B and C with a
multimeter.
Remove foreign matter.

Is an error displayed?
Is other display appearing?
Does the flow arrow
on flow tube agree with the
flow direction?

tube filled with the liquid?
Change the piping or
mounting to fill the flow tube
with the liquid.
Vertical mounting is effective.
Is the resistance 100M

or more for each?
Is foreign matter
sticking to the liner and
electrode?
