OIL PUMP COMPONENTS AND
FUNCTIONS
The gear-type oil pump is installed on the cylinder
block
(Figure 8-2, (1))
. The pump is driven by the
crankshaft gear through the idler gear
(Figure 8-2, (2))
. An oil pressure regulating valve
(Figure 8-2, (6))
is located on the cylinder block
behind the oil cooler.
