area.
6. Place the seal plate on the bearing housing.
Secure the seal plate with TORX T machine
bolts and tighten to the specified torque value.
Installing the Compressor Impeller
1. Place the compressor impeller on the turbine
rotor shaft.
2. Tighten the turbine rotor shaft end nut to the
specified torque value.
NOTICE: The turbine
rotor shaft end nut has left-hand threads.
Installing the Turbine Housing
NOTICE: ALWAYS align the index marks when
assembling the turbocharger unit.
1. Make sure the oil inlet, oil outlet and air outlet
are in their correct positions.
2. Position the turbine pressure plates and tighten
the M8 hexagon bolts to the specified torque
value.
Installing the Compressor Housing
1. Apply Three Bond
®
No. 1207 sealant to the
compressor-side flange face of the bearing
housing.
2. Align the index marks and join the compressor
housing to the bearing housing.
3. Make sure the oil inlet, oil outlet and air outlet
are in their correct positions.
4. Attach the compressor pressure plates and
tighten the M8 hexagon bolts to the specified
torque.
Connecting the Boost Hose
1. Place the clips to the center of the boost hose.
2. Install the boost hose from the compressor
housing to the wastegate actuator
(Figure 9-1)
.
3. Install clips to the boost hose nipples.
Post-Assembly Inspection
1. Measure the rotor axial play and compare to the
specified limits. If the rotor play exceeds the
limits, disassemble and reassemble the
turbocharger.

2. Measure the rotor radial play and compare to
the specified limits. If the rotor play exceeds the
limits, disassemble and reassemble the
turbocharger.
