Measuring the Coolant Pump Clearances
1. Push the impeller all the way toward the
pump body and insert a thickness gauge
(Figure 7-9, (1))
diagonally between the
impeller and the body to measure the clearance
between the two.

2. Place a straightedge
(Figure 7-10, (1))
against
the end of the pump body and insert a
thickness gauge
(Figure 7-10, (2))
between the
impeller and the plate (pump body bracket) to
measure the clearance between the two.
