TROUBLESHOOTING
Any of the following fail to light: headlight, auxiliary light, front position light, high beam indicator light,
tail/brake light, license plate light, meter light or storage box light.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Front cowling assembly

1. Check the each bulbs and bulb
sockets condition.
Refer to “CHECKING THE BULBS
AND BULB SOCKETS” on page
8-90.
Replace the bulb(s) and bulb socket.
2. Check the fuses.
(Main, headlight, ignition, parking
lighting, signaling system and back-
up)
Refer to “CHECKING THE FUS-
ES” on page 8-91.
Replace the fuse(s).
3. Check the battery.
Refer to “CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY” on
page 8-91. • Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.
4. Check the smart key system relay.
Refer to “CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS” on page 8-94. Replace the smart key system relay.
5. Check the dimmer switch.
Refer to “CHECKING THE
SWITCHES” on page 8-87.
The dimmer switch is faulty. Replace the
left handlebar switch.
6. Check the pass switch.
Refer to “CHECKING THE
SWITCHES” on page 8-87.
The pass switch is faulty. Replace the left
handlebar switch.
7. Check the headlight relay.
Refer to “CHECKING THE RE-
LAYS” on page 8-94. Replace the headlight relay.
