FRONT FORK

f. Remove the rod puller and the rod puller at-

tachment.

g. Install the damper rod locknut “1” onto the 

damper rod and turn it until it stops.

h. Install the cap bolt “4”, and then tighten the 

damper rod locknut “1” until it contacts the 
bolt.

i. Hold the cap bolt and tighten the damper rod 

locknut to specification.

j. Remove the rod holder and fork spring com-

pressor.

INSTALLING THE FRONT FORK LEGS

The following procedure applies to both of the 
front fork legs.
1. Install:

• Front fork leg

Temporarily tighten the upper and lower 
bracket pinch bolts.

TIP

Make sure the outer tube is flush with the top of 
the upper bracket.

2. Tighten:

• Lower bracket pinch bolts “1”
• Cap bolt “2”
• Upper bracket pinch bolt “3”
