REP 4.1.2: Scanner rollers
and bushings

Perform the following:
a.
REP 1.1: WorkCentre Cover on page 4-3
b.
REP 3.1.1: Control Panel on page 4-27

Remove the 4 screws that secure the scanner
cover to the scanner chassis.
3.
Scanner rollers are pressed into the small plastic
scanner bushings as shown in Figure 4-40. To
remove a roller, simply lift up on it until it snaps
out of each bushing.
4.
To replace a scanner bushing, lift the roller
away from the busing. Lift the old busing out of
it’s slot, and push in a new bushing.

Scanner bushings
ADF separator 1-way bushing
The ADF separator roller has a one-way
bushing (clutch) on the end closest to the scanner
motor. To replace this bushing:
1.
Lift the ADF separator roller out of the
scanner bushings.
2.
Use a small screwdriver to remove the
circlip at the end of the shaft (Figure 4-41).

3.
Remove the old bushing, and slide the new bushing
into place.
4.
Reinstall the circlip.
