REP 2.1.19: Toggle Gear

Note: Do not change the alignment or position
of the paper feed cam during this procedure. If
th cam is out of alignment, perform the
alignment procedure ADJ 2.4 Cam Alignment
Procedure on page 4-48.
Removal
1.
Perform the following:
a.
REP 1.1: WorkCentre Cover on page 4-3
2.
Remove the copper grounding plate that
attaches to the paper feed motor housing and
carriage motor.
3.
Remove the 2 screws that secure the paper
feed motor and pump to the printer.
4.
Remove the large 100:35 gear shown in
Figure 4-33.

5.
Remove the toggle gear assembly.
6.
Remove the toggle gear and inspect for
damage.

Replacement
1.
Replace the old toggle gear with a known, good toggle gear.
2.
Perform ADJ 2.4 Cam Alignment Procedure on page 4-48.
3.
Place the toggle gear assembly on the shaft as shown in Figure 4-33.
4.
Place the large gear removed in step 4 above on the shaft.
5.
Attach the paper feed motor/pump assembly to the printer.
Make sure the motor gear meshes properly with the toggle gear.
