RAP 4.2: Encoder
See Parts list 2.1
1. Check for a loose or damaged
ribbon cable from main board
connector CN10 to the printer
interface PWB. See Figure 2-15.

Result: Cable and connections
appear good?
No:
Reconnect the cable, or replace as
required.
Yes:
Continue with Step 3.

2. Check for a loose or damaged wire harness
from the printer interface PWB to the encoder.
See Figure 2-16.

Result: Harness and connections appear good?
No:
Reconnect the wire harness, or replace as required.
Yes:
Continue with Step 4.
3. Perform System Check: Printer Test.
Result: System Check passes?
No:
Replace the encoder (REP 2.1.12: Encoder on page 4-15).
If this does not solve the problem, replace the main circuit
board (REP 5.1.2: Main Board on page 4-39).
Yes:
End of Encoder RAP.
