requirement, tighten the remaining bolts in a crisscross pattern. Repeat this
twice to verify the torque.
(Repeat steps in 8.5 for each domed cover to be installed)
6.6.6
If installing a head or head extension, complete this set of steps. If not, skip this set of
steps.
6.6.6.1
Apply Loctite 518 or equal to the bottom of the head or extension. The Loctite
must go around and between all holes.
6.6.6.2
Install the head to the pump drive housing.
6.6.6.3
Install cam-lock washers and nuts.
6.6.6.4
Tighten to a specification of 62 lbf•ft
[84 Nm]. When tightening, tighten the
4x middle bolts first in a crisscross pattern. Once these meet the torque
requirement, tighten the remaining bolts in a crisscross pattern. Repeat this
twice to verify the torque.
6.6.6.5
Wipe excess sealant.
(Repeat steps in 6.6.6 for each head or head extension to be installed)
6.7
Internal Heat Exchanger Installation
(if equipped)
6.7.1.
Before installing into pump drive housing, assemble one end of the heat exchanger completely.
See step 6.7.2
6.7.2
Assemble one End of the Heat Exchanger.
6.7.2.1
Slide small seal ring (metal with rubber on inner diameter) onto one end of internal
heat exchanger.
6.7.2.2
Slide cap with hole onto the same end.
6.7.2.3
Install the O-ring followed by the brass part with bevel, making sure the beveled end is
facing the O-ring.
6.7.2.4
Install nut and tighten until assembly is made up solid.
6.7.3
Apply Loctite 518 to internal heat exchanger mounting locations.
6.7.4
Insert assembly detailed in 6.7.2 into pump drive housing. Install and tighten the six mounting
bolts & washers which hold the assembled end of the internal heat exchanger assembly in
position.
6.7.5
Assemble Opposing End of the Internal Heat Exchanger.
6.7.5.1
Slide small seal ring (metal with rubber on inner diameter) onto the end of the internal
heat exchanger.
6.7.5.2
Slide cap with hole onto the same end.
6.7.5.3
Install and tighten the six mounting bolts and washers which hold the end of the
internal heat exchanger in position.
