3.11 Drive Belt Adjustment
WARNING!
Do not for any reason adjust the engine drive belts or belt sup-
port bracket with the engine running. Doing so may result in serious injury.
See Table 3-2.
Check the drive belt tension after the first 20 hours, and every 50 hours thereafter.
See the table below for drive belt tension specifications for your model sawmill.
1.
Remove the two belt covers located underneath the engine.
2. For Manual Clutch Handle:
Loosen the drive belt turnbuckle jam nuts. Turn the turnbuckle counterclockwise
(as viewed from the top) to tighten the belt, clockwise to loosen the belt.
See Figure 3-7.
3. For Autoclutch Option:
Place a wrench on the flats at the top of the turnbuckle. Use a second wrench to turn
the bottom-most jam nut clockwise (as viewed from the bottom) to tighten the belt, counterclockwise to loosen
the belt.
