*Driving on public roads (StVZO)
The government of Upper Palatinate grants an exception permit (see the
details indicated on the original) for the road rollers of the GRW 280 type
pursuant to section 70, subsections 1 and 2 of the German Road Traffic
Type Approval Law (StVZO).
General information
The special approval can always be revoked and applies only for the
keeper of the vehicle.
You need the relevant driving license when driving the vehicle on
public roads (as per 2010: class L).
You may only make use of the special approval, if insurance
coverage is provided.
You have to have the special approval and proof insurance in the
ORIGINAL form with you when driving.
When driving on public roads the admissible total weight may not
exceed 20,000 kg. The machines with more ballast must be reduced
to this maximum weight.
If machines with an admissible total weight of more than 20,000 kg
are used, an additional approval besides the special approval is
necessary. This additional approval can only be granted by the
federal states in Germany in which the machine is intended to be
used.
The operator must ensure that a second wheel chock (m = 5,400 kg)
is on board.
